The reason for this blog is to document my exploration of the proposed route of the HS2, but also to expand peoples knowledge with regards to the impact photography can have in times of social discontent, opposition and discussion. My aim is to complete part of this project by the time of my graduation show on the 13th of June (2014) at Plymouth University; with a book detailing the areas I have visited and large-scale prints displayed. I also want to be able to raise enough interest to participate in a second show and to make an extended book.

This will be available to the public, distributed to the people that have provided invaluable assistance in the process, and to those who have the power to think twice about the questionable decisions that have been made, not only in regards to the chosen route, but whether the money could be better spent elsewhere. I am currently applying for funding to make this happen, but increased understanding and discussion is something that is imperative, as the lack of clarity and awareness is surprising, not only amongst people directly effected by the route but also in the rest of the UK.
